When I moved to the U.S. at 17, I received my B.S. and M.S in electrical engineering during a 14 year career at HP, eventually managing over 70 employees across the globe. It was after three years as a product development executive in Chicago that a stress-induced illness shut down my life. I looked in the mirror and said: How was I meant to impact the world? Where did my heart want to do? I shifted my focus to marketing, did customer experience for Crocs, and then business intel for Otter. In 2016, I co founded, raised capital and served as CMO for Bold Betties, an adventure platform with ecommerce, community and excursions for women. Under my leadership, they gained national recognition across a variety of mediums, scaled to 39 chapters and secured a 300% revenue growth in 12 months.
I serve on the Persian Cultural Circle board of directors. This serves as a grounding force, keeping me securely connected to my roots. I am also a board member and advisor for various start-ups, including Ohos and Simor. Finally I’m a founding member and the president of Ellevate Denver from 2014-2016, a global organization dedicated to helping women thrive in the society and the workplace.
Growth (intellectually, spiritually, experientially) is my first priority. Researching. Reading. Figuring stuff out. I’m not terribly detail-oriented– sometimes can’t find my phone to save my life–but I love contemplating the concept of “the God within”. I’m easily distracted by artistic pursuits (ballroom dancing anyone?). And whatever I do, I like to savor life. A Milka chocolate bar. A 2007 Darioush Cabernet from California. A new purse. My deck garden–red geraniums, mint and basil–is my happy place. And my son, Parsa, is my greatest joy.
